Bluffdale, Utah – C7 Data Centers (C7) announces the construction of Phase 2 of Granite Point II, its flagship data center and office complex in Bluffdale, Utah. Opened in December 2013 with a first phase of 35,000 feet of data center space, it is nearing occupancy and C7 has begun the construction of an additional 30,000 square feet in Phase II to be finished in October, 2015. This will complete Granite Point II’s 95,000 feet of space, securing its position as Utah’s newest, ultra-modern, state-of-the-art multi-tenant data center complex.

In conjunction with this growth, C7 has also expanded the power capacity to the Granite Point Campus to 11+ Megawatts, to further leverage the 250,000 square foot campus. An onsite substation is planned for 2016 to expand the power capacity to 20+ Megawatts. Given C7’s innovative approach to cooling efficiencies by mating technology and the geographic advantages of its cold desert locations, C7 can deliver 75%-80% of its power capacity to the servers and critical load, versus the industry average of 50%-60%.

C7 is a leading provider of advanced IT, cloud and data center colocation services with multiple data centers strategically located in Utah for some of the nation’s lowest power rates, ambient air cooling for cost savings, low disaster risk profile, a highly accessible airport and the great outdoor lifestyle.

C7’s local, national and international clients are offered colocation solutions with various options for expandable space, security, cooling, power and bandwidth for their data infrastructures. Customers vary across all industries with a common desire for disaster-safe, scalable and affordable data center colocation. Other solutions may involve C7’s Cloud & IT Services division to assist or provide cloud resources.

CEO Wes Swenson said, “Granite Point II is an extreme departure in data center design from the typical industry standard in its aesthetic, “just in time” effectiveness, and efficiency in provisioning and cooling. We have had an overwhelming response to the product; it’s not like anything else in the market. Beyond all the thought, technology, and detail are the employees. Our employees have such great pride in the product, and they are fanatical about customer satisfaction. We have enjoyed terrific growth with local clients, but even greater growth with non-proximate clients from all over the world. Our designs and service are world class, yet our costs are often times 40%-50% lower than similar or larger sized metropolitan service providers in other parts of the United States.”

Granite Point II is the most advanced Tier III-type data center the company has built to date, and one of the most progressive and efficient data centers in the country. In order to ensure low cost services, C7 uses Just-in-Time build outs and initially plumbed Granite Point II for maximum usage but builds out the infrastructure at the time it is required, thus offering efficient scaling for low cost colocation. Utilizing ambient air cooling, innovative cold air containment, and actuated cooling to variable server heat loads, Granite Point II also boasts dense power deployments and monitoring at every level of the infrastructure. 48U cabinets are standard, with 36 inch raised floors, under-floor directional plenums, and circuit or metered power. Anti-piggybacking secure access with three factor authentication (access badge, video, and iris confirmation), secure network and carrier rooms and a 24/7 network operations center guarantee strict safety measures. And C7 provides dedicated office suites for its customers’ IT support personnel that are directly connected with fiber right to the data center floor. Granite Point II represents the beauty, technology, scalability and affordability of a C7 data center solution.

Joins Major Online Retailer Overstock.com and San Jose Earthquakes MLS Team in accepting the digital currency

May 28, 2014 04:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time

BLUFFDALE, Utah–C7 Data Centers (C7), a leading provider of cloud, advanced IT and data center colocation services, announced today it accepts the digital currency bitcoin. Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer payment system and cryptocurrency, so named because it uses cryptography to control the creation and transfer of money, offering an alternative currency and payment-tracking system.

C7 accepts bitcoins through multiple online services, and will add others as the market options expand. As a payment option, bitcoins offer customers benefits such as low inflation risk, low collapse risk due to its virtual global currency, and a safe and inexpensive form of payment.

Bitcoin has been growing in popularity, and C7 joins many other major companies to accept the digital currency, including Overstock.com (OSTK), the Sacramento Kings professional basketball team, the Richard Branson-led aviation company Virgin Galactic, the popular blogging platform WordPress used by some of the biggest media companies in the world (including The New York Times, CNN, Reuters and TechCrunch), Tigerdirect (SYX), a major online retailer for electronic products, and Zynga (ZNGA), the popular mobile gaming company.

C7 first became involved in bitcoin with its sponsorship of the soon to be released documentary, “Life on Bitcoin.” Beccy Bingham, Director of Marketing at C7, lived and traveled the world on the digital currency with her husband for 101 days in 2013 while a film crew followed them on their journey. The BBC, Al Jazeera, NPR and the Wall Street Journal have profiled the project.

C7 Data Centers CEO Wes Swenson stated, “We are accepting bitcoins as an option for account payment. C7 has received many requests over the last few months to accept bitcoin payments, and is responding to the demand. C7 is also one of the leading data centers to provide and host bitcoin transaction processing. C7 strives to provide its global customers with world-class service, and the pioneer of cryptocurrency will offer another convenient payment option, as it is all about the customer at C7.”

Acquisition Provides for Growing Cloud Support and IT Managed Services

C7 will continue the successful operation of IntegraTechs’ ability to maintain, monitor and manage all areas of IT needs including desktops, networks, servers, firewalls, routers, backups, upgrades, and maintenance. IntegraTechs currently has a corporate support center in American Fork, Utah with additional sites in Seattle, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Washington DC. C7 plans to expand the national presence of IntegraTechs over the next twelve months with new offices in Denver, Minneapolis, Boise, and Reno and is considering international expansion to service C7’s worldwide client base. C7 Data Centers CEO Wes Swenson stated, “We felt this was a critical and strategic acquisition to rapidly expand our sales and support of our cloud efforts in the FuseApp product line, as well as to expand resources to our current and prospective client base. IntegraTechs has a tremendous client base, as well as a 24/7 support center. Generally it takes some time for a services provider to reach this scale and we feel IntegraTechs adds a critical support function and real asset to our company and to our clients.”

“Demand from small, medium and large enterprises for cloud expertise and managed services is growing rapidly, and we needed to meet this demand with a quality operation. IntegraTechs has a dedicated base of employees which numbers around 60 people, and we have plans to hire and expand this operation to over 100 personnel in the next twelve months. We will be enlarging the security practice, virtual desktops support, and, of course, cloud migration, support, and design,” said Wes Swenson.

C7 launches new 95,000 sq. ft. data center and office complex

Bluffdale, Utah – September 10th, 2013 10:00 a.m. MST – C7 Data Centers (C7), a leading provider of advanced IT, cloud and data center colocation services, announced today it will launch Granite Point II, a new 95,000 foot, state of the art data center complex in Bluffdale, Utah in October 2013. Granite Point II will be the most advanced Tier III data center the company has built to date, and one of the most advanced and efficient data centers in the country.

C7 has multiple data centers exclusively in Utah with local, national and international clients, representing virtually every industry in the world and operating production, disaster recovery, cloud, and storage solutions out of C7′s data centers.

Wes Swenson, CEO of C7 stated, “This data center is the culmination of years of listening to our customers, combined with our vision of what a modern data center should be. It is trly world class and state of the art in every respect with a vision for the future. In this day and age, businesses are experiencing rapid IT growth but their data centers are aging. Granite Point II is truly a modern data center, built at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, and will provide a terrific product for our demanding customers experiencing growth.”

“Building C7 in Utah provides our customers with data center designs and operational mantras that address many concerns the IT buyer has today; such as low disaster risk, abundant low latency connectivity options, future proofing power and cooling, and a footprint they can grow in — all at a lower cost. C7 in Utah offers a cost-effective alternative to the Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver markets and is well on par with data centers from Equinix (EQIX), CyrusOne (CONE), and Digital Realty Trust (DRT). The customer experience is our focus, and our designs to provide uninterruptible power and cooling are paramount.”

The design of Granite Point II has been in development for the last two years and construction began in February 2013. The site is designed for 10 Megawatts of power and is expected to attain a 1.2 PUE rate due to the type of equipment and the ambient air the Utah climate provides. Customers with needs ranging from one rack to thousands of square feet can be accommodated with flexible pricing and easily expandable layouts. U.S. Representative Jim Matheson (UT-4), who represents C7 Data Centers’ Bluffdale location, recently toured the bright, cavernous Granite Point II facility and offered his praise to the C7 employees for their hard work in Utah.

Granite Point II substantially raises the bar in what the market currently offers for multi-tenant data center services and is the latest advancement in data centers. Utilizing ambient air cooling, innovative cold air containment, and actuated cooling to variable server head loads, Granite Point II also boasts dense power deployments and monitoring at every level of the infrastructure. 48U cabinets are standard with 36 inch raised floors, under-floor directional plenums, and circuit or metered power. Anti-piggybacking secure access with three factor authentication (access badge, video, and iris confirmation), secure network and carrier rooms and a 24/7 network operations center guarantee strict safety measures. Finally, C7 provides dedicated office suites for its customer’ IT support personnel that are directly connected with fiber right to the data center floor.
